Invitation Letter

Welcome Message from the President

Dear Members of the Korean Society for Free Radical Research,
Colleagues and Scholars in Free Radical Science

Warm greetings.
I am Jinwon Hyun, Professor at the School of Medicine, Jeju National University, and I have the honor of serving as President of the Korean Society for Free Radical Research for the 2025–2026 term.

This year marks my first time hosting our symposium as President, and I am especially pleased to announce that it has been expanded into an international symposium with the participation of esteemed scholars from abroad.

The 2025 International Symposium of the Korean Society for Free Radical Research will be held from November 26 to 29 at the Ocean Suites Hotel, set against the stunning coastline of Jeju Island.

The event will feature two keynote speakers, over 20 invited researchers from Japan and China, and leading domestic experts in the field of free radical research.

In particular, the keynote lectures will be delivered by our respected former presidents, Professor Myung-Hee Jung and Professor Hun-Taek Jung, who will provide profound insights into Redox Biology and its associations with various diseases.

This international symposium will serve as a meaningful platform to exchange cutting-edge research, introduce groundbreaking findings, and foster dynamic academic interactions—paving the way for new ideas and collaborative opportunities.

Free radical research spans across disciplines such as medicine, biology, chemistry, pharmacy, and engineering. Its academic value and practical applications are vast and ever-expanding. It is a truly interdisciplinary field that thrives on integrative perspectives and collaborative effort.

I hope this symposium will broaden our collective knowledge and insight, and become a valuable opportunity to explore new directions in free radical science together.

I warmly encourage your active participation and engaging discussions, which will be key to the continued advancement of our field. I also sincerely thank all members and supporters of our Society for their ongoing interest and generous support.

Thank you.

June 2025
Jinwon Hyun, Ph.D.

President, Korean Society for Free Radical Research
